According to supplier data, this switch is expected to cut emissions from aluminum components by approximately 82 kg CO₂e per ton, a reduction of over 60% compared to primary aluminum.

Smarter Sourcing with Lower Impact

The recycled aluminum is supplied by Mäkelä Alu, a Finnish partner whose aluminum profile products are designed to meet stringent sustainability criteria. The material is sourced from high-quality scrap—both from industrial production and end users—and re-cast at the supplier’s own foundry. This helps reduce both raw material demand and transportation emissions, supporting a more circular, local supply chain.

According to Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), the emissions from powder-coated recycled aluminum profiles are 2.59 t CO₂e per ton, compared to the European average of 6.7 t CO₂e per ton for primary aluminum.
