Air That Lets You Think

The Invisible Advantage of Vetrospace

The Hidden Threat to Your Focus: Carbon Dioxide

Have you ever stepped into an office pod to focus, only to find yourself feeling unusually tired, foggy, or distracted a short while later?

Most people attribute this to a long workday or a difficult task. In reality, the culprit is entirely invisible: poor air quality.

When you enter a standard, sealed office pod, it becomes a container that quickly concentrates your exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2). Without the right technology, the pod designed to help you think becomes the exact environment draining your cognitive performance.

This is what our Smart Pod Air Quality System is designed to solve.

Co2 PPM levels

How CO2 is killing your productivity

In a standard open-plan office, CO2 disperses and remains relatively close to the outdoor baseline, but inside a poorly ventilated pod, CO2 accumulates rapidly. Because it is odourless and invisible, its effects feel indistinguishable from ordinary fatigue.

A controlled, double-blind study conducted by the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health measured exactly how CO2 impacts professional knowledge workers. The results showed that elevated CO2 levels directly degrade the highest-order brain functions—specifically Strategy, Information Usage, and Crisis Response.

The study revealed a dramatic drop in cognitive performance as CO2 levels rise:

  • At 945 ppm—a level considered acceptable under standard ventilation guidelines and routinely reached in standard office pods—cognitive scores dropped by 15% compared to an optimal baseline.
  • At 1,400 ppm—a level common in poorly ventilated spaces—cognitive scores plummeted by 50%.

The "Noise Trap" and Silent Degradation

The problem is magnified by the way standard pods are built. Most pods use standard axial fans with manual speed controls, where users naturally turn the fan down to reduce distracting noise. However, because noise is their only feedback signal, they are unknowingly cutting off their air supply to achieve acoustic comfort.

Furthermore, these standard fans lack protective filtration. Over time, dust and textile fibres accumulate on the blades. Within 12 months, a typical axial fan loses about 30% of its airflow capacity. By 24 months, it has lost approximately half of its capacity. The user hears the same fan noise and assumes it is working, but they are routinely working in a state of cognitive impairment.

The Vetrospace Solution: Autonomous, Smart Air

At Vetrospace, we believe you shouldn't have to manage an invisible problem. We designed our pods to actively support your wellbeing and cognitive performance through autonomous, high-performance ventilation.

Our XXL to S model pods feature smart, patented CO2-controlled ventilation. Instead of relying on manual dials and noise tolerance, a built-in sensor monitors CO2 levels in real-time. It automatically adjusts the airflow using a heavy-duty, positive-pressure radial fan that forces stale air out and pushes fresh air in. This ensures CO2 levels are consistently held in the optimal 600–900 ppm range, allowing you to operate at peak cognitive capacity all day long.

Not just fresh, but clean air

Every Vetrospace pod integrates high-performance G4 filtration. This filter acts as a powerful shield with two distinct protective roles:

First, it cleans the air coming into the pod for your comfort and health, intercepting large airborne particles like dust, hair, textile fibres, and coarse pollen before you can breathe them in.

Second, by capturing this debris, the G4 filter protects the radial fan's impeller and motor bearings from dust fouling. This ensures that with propoper care and maintenance, our pods maintain a flat, consistent performance rate over years of daily use.

This can be further improved with our CLEAN feature set.

The CLEAN Upgrade: HEPA H13 & Antimicrobial Light

For environments requiring the highest hygiene standards, pods can be upgraded to our CLEAN feature set. This adds a medical-grade HEPA H13 filter and Antimicrobial Blue Light (aBL) technology to the setup, bringing the space to a clean room level by ISO-7 standard:

  • Infection Transmission: Protected by the G4 filter, the HEPA H13 filter captures at least 99.95% of the respiratory aerosol particles that carry viruses and bacteria. Because the pod has a small volume, the system clears the aerosol load of a previous occupant within minutes, making sequential use safe for everyone in the office.

  • PM2.5 Particulates: Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) from indoor and outdoor pollution triggers systemic inflammation that independently reduces working memory. The HEPA H13 captures at least 99.97% of these fine particulates.

  • Continuous Surface Disinfection: To complete the hygienic environment, the CLEAN upgrade includes Antimicrobial Blue Light (aBL). When the pod is unoccupied, this light automatically and safely disinfects interior surfaces without the use of harsh chemicals, ensuring the space is always pristine for the next user.
