Background

Professio, a leading professional events and training provider in Finland, organizes around 40 events and 500 training sessions per year. As Professio Finland continues to grow, now with a team of approximately 70 employees, their office environment requires functional spaces to support private conversations and efficient work.

The Challenge

Operating in an open-plan office, Professio employees frequently found themselves struggling to find quiet spaces for meetings and calls. Sales Manager Tuomas Riisalo described the situation as “desperate,” with team members often resorting to taking customer calls in corridors due to a lack of private meeting areas. The need for soundproof, well-ventilated spaces became even more evident following a merger that nearly doubled the company’s size, a clear challenge to maintain open office productivity.

The Solution

To address this issue, Professio incorporated Vetrospace pods into their workspace. They now have one VETROSPACE M+ pod, which comfortably accommodates up to four people, and two VETROSPACE XS+ pods designed for individual use. The M+ pod, located centrally in the open office, has become a popular meeting space that helps enhance office productivity, while the XS+ pods, strategically placed near the sales team, provide quick access for calls.

The air conditioning in the M+ pod ensures comfort, even during extended meetings with multiple participants. “Even when it gets warm, the AC and ventilation keep the space comfortable,” says Riisalo.

The Benefits

The Vetrospace pods have significantly improved the workspace at Professio. Although not directly reflected in productivity metrics, the pods have improved employee well-being by offering much-needed privacy and reducing workplace noise that are both essential for supporting productivity in an open office environment. “Happy employees perform better,” Riisalo notes. The pods have also facilitated a hybrid work model, ensuring that employees who come into the office have proper spaces to conduct business effectively.

Design and Aesthetic Appeal

The new Vetrospace pods not only function well but also complement the office’s interior design. Professio chose an olive green and rose-pink color scheme, a decision that was initially debated but ultimately praised for its stylish and modern look. “At first, my supervisor thought they should be white, but after seeing them, he agreed that the colors were a great choice,” Riisalo recalls.
